  It wasn't really business, but the experience of a life time :-) Driven by passion for the sailing lifestyle and the love for diving on coral reefs. I sold almost everything I had, bought myself a 20m sailing Yacht named OLD SALT, and lived aboard traveling from Australia via Papua New Guniea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Andamans, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Chagos, Seychelles, Madagaskar, Tanzania and Kenya.   THE BIKER STORE, another venture derived from pure passion, is an independent shop for Harley-Davidson, cruisers and custom motorcycles of all brands, with emphasis on Amercian style cruisers and their life style. It started as a small garage operation in Ballito, carefully trying and testing the South African market, at the time unknown to me, for it's niches and it's needs, constantly expanding and investing. With the knowledge accumulated finally doing the big move in 2010, expanding and changing location to Umhlanga. * We have a full range of clothing/apparel & accessories for ladies and gentlemen. Apart from the local market, we serve the whole of South Africa with our fully fledged online shop.* Our parts department carries all consumables for Harley-Davidson and American choppers, along with many custom parts. Once per month the department imports an consolidated shipping from 27 different suppliers in the USA. Again, the department mails out parcels on a daily basis.* The bike sales department specializes in sales of new and pre owned motorcycles nation wide and internationally, with Harley-Davidson being the majority and BMW in second place, but also Victory USA, Indian USA, Cleveland USA and all types of metric cruiser motorcycles.* In the workshop American motorcycles as well as BMWs are being serviced and customized, as well as award winning custom bikes are being built from scratch. Our employees have advanced manufacturing skills, like leather tooling, metal shaping / welding / working with fibreglas. Being certified S&S dealer we upgrade engines and operate our own DYNOJET dynamo meter for tuning purposes.All employees and management are in place. Show less
