      Observed and participated in various settings within the behavioral health department, including: •Psychiatry Unit: Under the supervision of Arthur McGinn, M.D., I was involved in therapy sessions, medical management, as well as weekly 1-hour long case discussions focusing on chronic diagnoses encountered by veterans, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Major Depression Disorder (MDD) and anxiety disorders among others.•Neuropsychology Office: Under the supervision of Mina Dunnam, Ph.D., assisting her with administering, scoring and interpreting neuropsychology tests, such as the Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test (ROCF), Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV), or California Verbal Learning Test-Second Edition (CVLT-II). This experience also included the treatment and prognosis of patients after undergoing these tests. •In-patient Unit: Under the supervision of several psychiatrists I was involved in the case management of patients on the acute care, in-patient ward. I was also involved in the outpatient unit, attending therapy sessions, as well as making home-visits and outreach trips to underserved inner city patients. •Alcohol and Drug Dependency Unit: Assisted with weekly, hour-long therapy sessions in which the management of medications, continued outpatient sobriety, and risk management were discussed as well as several disciplines of therapy (CBT, Supportive and Interpersonal Therapy) were practiced.
