      Served as Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health Systems. Elected member to both the Senate Faculty Executive Committee & The University Council (2008-11), charged with advising the Provost and President on University wide management issues including revision of tuition assistance, navigating the institutional-wide impact of the global financial crisis, faculty diversification, oversight of educational policy and reform of the role of the standing faculty. At the Departmental level, Anesthesiology & Critical Care, directed the acute pain services program & the interventional pain fellowship education program. Worked with orthopedic and other peri-operative colleagues to develop and align best practices for a range of orthopedic and other surgical procedures across the continuum of perioperative care and inpatient hospitalization to improve efficiencies and promote better outcomes while enhancing the overall patient experience. Invited speaker to Chinese Society of Anesthesiologists and Egyptian Society of Anesthesiologists ASM's, as well as other academic speaking invitations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South America and throughout the US.       As Virtua Health System transformed to become a multi specialty, community based, ACO driven healthcare delivery system, I was part of the team that planed and implemented the changes needed to achieve the institution's goals. My ongoing participation in Virtua’s Physician Action Committee and member of the inaugural Physician Leadership Program were instrumental in helping me implement these system changes. Co-founded the Pain and Spine division at Virtua grass roots from a start up to a hugely profitable sector for Virtua Health, generating $20M annually by year 3. Implemented inpatient and outpatient pain and spine programs system wide at 4 campuses. Served as Chief of Pain since 2011. Nominated to the NIH IPRCC in 2013 by President of the ASA, Dr John Zerwas.
