      I served on the UMass System-Wide Board of Trustees during my first year of grad school. Under this role I spearheaded a project to gain initial funding for the George N. Parks Marching Band Building at UMass Amherst. At UMass Lowell, I served on the Provost Search Committee and helped streamline the scholarship application process. The capstone of my graduate school experience included a semester of student teaching K-12 in the Chelmsford, MA Public Schools.

      As Innovation School Leader for the Pentucket Music Conservatory, I coordinated efforts with administration, teachers, students, parents, and community members to elevate the level of musicianship occurring in grades 7-12. I developed curriculum for new online courses in career pathways for music business, music education, music therapy, and sound recording technology. New grades 7-12 chamber groups were created along with tiered percussion ensembles. In 2017, the NAMM Foundation ranked the Pentucket Music Conservatory as 2017 Best Communities for Music Education in the United States. Highlights: -Students in Music Technology composed music using the Young Composers and Improvisers Workshop curriculum . Seven compositions were then selected to be performed by the Grammy-nominated Metropolis Ensemble of New York. -The High School Concert Band performed at Boston Symphony Hall during the USBands Festival.-Tony Vacca lead a one-day workshop with the percussionists in grades 7-12 followed by a community performance focused on world percussion.-Increased amount of students accepted into the Northeastern Junior District Music Festival from 1 student in FY16 to 11 students in FY17. -New England Scholastic Band Marching Percussion Ensemble Scholastic A Champions -Designated "Best Communities for Music Education" by NAMM FoundationDistrict-wide Technology Integration Coordinator: -Developed online tutorials and training sessions for podcasting, Google classroom, and technology integration focused on the creation level of Bloom's Taxonomy-Guided a team 8 Technology Integration Specialists for building-based technology pd-Developed a website with creative tasks for a high school online school day (featured on Fox25 News) -Collaborated with school librarian to host EdCampAdditional Roles: Senior Class Advisor, Union Contract Negotiating Team Member, Superintendent Search Committee, District Determined Measures Committee, Habits of Learning Committee.       The Merrimack Valley Concert Band (www.mvcband.com) is a community concert band located in West Newbury, Massachusetts. Formerly known as the West Newbury Veteran Fireman's Association Concert Band, the organization harkens back to the days when rural communities throughout New England fought fires with volunteers, bucket brigades, and horse drawn/hand pumped fire apparatus. Members, who range in age from 12 to 90, represent many levels of musical ability and experience. The Band repertoire is a broad mix of popular, jazz, swing, patriotic and Broadway tunes taken from the 'Great American Songbook.' Instrumentation includes wind instruments, drums, glockenspiel - even a string bass. The ensemble performs in over 12 concerts a year throughout New England. Show less
