  I steered the functions of business development in Health and Agriculture segments of Government sponsored insurance programmes. As the Associate Vice President – Government Business Group, I spearheaded operations across the states of Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Uttarakhand, and a brief stint at Head Office in Mumbai.During this period, I was instrumental in building the ecosystem from scratch and developed high-performance team dedicated to ensuring sustainable delivery and expanded the business operations. By strengthening relationship and acquiring an understanding of the requirements of the Client/Government for various insurance products, I was able to effectively identify and tap business opportunities.By providing strategic direction and guidance to the teams across different teams, I successfully developed and managed some of the largest health insurance programmes and maintained healthy bottom line. In addition to this, I procured the existing Government insurance policies and ensured efficient service delivery in coordination with different functions. Also, effectively handled the P&C business of Government & Private corporates and Broker Relationship profile forcorporate business.I efficiently built the operational framework for the Claims team for ensuring proactive resolution of escalations of the Clients or State Governments, ensured negligible escalations from the State Governments during the entire service tenure with ICICI Lombard. I also hold the distinction for introducing Agriculture Insurance in the state of Haryana and grew the size of the business in the next few years.   As the Senior Vice President, I have been spearheading the functions of Business Development and accountable for meeting the assigned business targets by providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to the teams. By steering strategic initiatives and identification as well as management of large portfolios, I am accountable for enhancing business opportunities by creating better avenues for the Government sponsored Health Insurance business in India.During this period, I accelerated business opportunities by engaging with the large insurance companies and developing sustainable long-term relationships with the key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) through various initiatives and attractive schemes. In addition to this, I collaborated with the State and Central Government functionaries (both in political and administrative side) and assisted them in developing welfare insurance programmes including design of a fresh product structure. I was also responsible for liaising with the Home Office in France and Actuarial department for pricing and seamless servicing to clients.I was instrumental in setting up a robust ecosystem and created opportunities for boosting sales and business growth.
