      All of my active duty training was conducted with only the best, the US Army Rangers. I was trained in all combat tactics for Artic, Urban, & Wooded environments. Some of the awards or medals, I received were the National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Achievement medal, and Parachutist (Airborne) Badge. I left the US Army with an Honorable Discharge in 1991 after a brief extension due to the Gulf War.I served with two separate Airborne Units in the US Army.       At Dollar General, I held a variety of increasingly responsible positions ranging from store manager of a single store to district trainer, and on three occasions, acting district manager. As the store manager, I held full P&L responsibility for my store; through effective sales training, I increased my store’s sales volume by 37% in less than two years. Additionally, I significantly increased profits by instituting a number of troubleshooting techniques to reduce loss. As a result, I was tasked with training all new store managers in our 20-store district. I was also charged with managing three store remodels in a single year, making my store the company’s “remodel showcase” and me the project manager overseeing four additional store remodels in other locations.
