  In 2017, I started my own business on Depop, making and selling handmade earrings. I have over 1000 followers and 165 five-star reviews. I expanded my consumer base by starting an Etsy shop in 2020, where my products now have nearly 20,000 views. I am selling globally, from Atlanta and Athens, to Bahrain and Blackpool. This has given me great first-hand business experience and the chance to exercise my entrepreneurial flair. I keep close track of finances within this - for instance, in September-December 2020, I sold over £450 worth of earrings with an 83% profit margin. This opportunity has massively developed my experience in data analytics – I have learnt how invaluable data is for self-reflection in business success. Effective time management and organisation has been essential to run this alongside studying. I designed my website on both of these platforms and used Instagram to further promote the business using my creative writing and art directing skills, shooting models wearing my earrings and crafting persuasive captions to accompany the photos. I also communicate regularly with my customers in a professional manner. I closely monitor customer needs and sales patterns and regularly analyse sales data, such as the conversion rate, listing views and the sources of website traffic, which helps me understand what has worked, what hasn’t and why. Researching trends on Depop, Instagram and TikTok helps me come up with ideas for new designs. Show less

  IT Project Manager

  In my 12 month placement at Procter & Gamble, I was a test manager in the Time & Workforce Management division of My P&G services, working on a software installation project across factories worldwide. This involved eliciting requirements from factory stakeholders, translating these into business process system tests, running system integration testing and user acceptance testing cycles and recording the outcomes. I also had to manage the investigation and resolution of any issues in the software. I was the test manager for a factory in Romania and two factories in Ukraine. My involvement in this gave me experience in a plethora of IT programmes, such as Panaya, Power BI, Jama and Microsoft Excel. It additionally provided me with an intense understanding of change, project and IT management. Outside of this, I was also responsible for facilitating the cross-fertilisation of knowledge across my team. This manifested in facilitating monthly connects between team members, which meant I had to organise and run meetings and then improve future ones based on the feedback I collected. On top of this, when I first started my placement I signed up be involved in organisational work in P&G’s People Pillar. I created a monthly Reward & Recognition video for my department’s townhalls, which was a great chance to show my creative skills. Show less

  Responsible for facilitating the information and operational technology involved in the journey from raw material, to production, to distribution, to supermarket shelves for Manchester Plant and Skelmersdale Distribution Centre.
