I was responsible for assisting the Engineering staff in Project design and management as well as maintenance works in the refinery complex. I learned a lot in Project management where my Unit was responsible for coordinating Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) with Shell Manufacturing Team from the Netherlands.   As one of the pioneer production supervisor employed into the organization in early 2005, I had the responsibilities of organizing a shift of 16 new staff to achieve the set goals and objectives of the organization. This includes achieving set production targets, quality control and assurance, staff on the job training and orientation of new staff, scheduling work for the shift, managing staff leave, staff disciplinary procedures, implementation of new job design, staff performance appraisals and signing off staff into new positions for confirmation by management and overall responsibilities for the entire production staff in my shift. I was able to manage and control my shift effectively to position my organization to the largest recharge card voucher manufacturing facility in Africa. I was able to manage steady growth in the staff strength from the initial 16 to over 100 staff in 3 years.
