      Activities and Societies: I worked as a student assistant training new students in the use of Elluminate, helping instructors to moderate their online Elluminate classes, answering student Elluminate questions in an online drop-in center, and scheduling Elluminate sessions for students in the program. I also completed a library instruction internship at the King Library at San Jose State University. I took classes on database and online searching, library services for distance learners, teaching in a virtual environment, digital copyright, information retrieval, web design, cataloging and classification, reference work, library management, and research methods. All of these classes were online in the ANGEL and D2L learning management systems.

I coordinated the hiring of new instructional staff members, the program and staffing schedules, our registration and placement office operations, the administration of standardized testing and other assessments, the purchasing of materials and technology, and staff participation in internal and external professional development opportunities. I represented our department and school at AEBG consortium workgroup activities and other outside events with partner agencies and community-based organizations. Show less For the 2002 version of the GED test (until December 2013), I provided administrative and student support for our GED testing program in a variety of areas - I oversaw the submission of testing materials and demographic data to our local testing center, handled records requests, wrote and updated GED program materials, securely maintained inventory of official GED materials, administered student registration sessions, and proctored testing sessions. Since January 2014, I completed tasks to open our PearsonVUE computer-based testing center in September 2014 and managed the administration of our GED testing program, including hiring new program staff to take over for me. Show less I met one-on-one with ESL students at all levels from Beginning to Advanced (and previously with students studying to get a High School Diploma or GED as well) who participated in our study-at-home program. I provided each student with individualized instruction by providing level-appropriate materials, reviewing work done at home, and formally assessing as needed. I revised assessments for a number of series used in our program, and added a new series and additional units to a second series. I provided support to other teachers who worked in the Distance Learning program at both our main campus and satellite locations. I began developing courses in Moodle to transition our program from a face-to-face to a hybrid distance learning program. Show less

The January 1, 2014 deadline to complete the old version of the GED Test presented many logistical issues for our students and our school. Anthony has demonstrated the ability to develop and execute both long and short term plans to enable our school to provide outstanding service to our students and community members.
