  Research Assistant

  Designed and carried out experiments looking at ice sheet dynamics, water quality, biological functioning and carbon source/sinks on the Greenland Ice Sheet. The role involved living on the ice sheet in very basic conditions (a tent) for 3 months while carrying out scientific research with one colleague. My research was included in two peer-reviewed publications.

  Monitored and sampled freshwater and coastal water quality and quantity across Northwest England as part of a small team. Carried out fisheries surveys in freshwater and estuarine environments via a number of methods (electrofishing, fyke nets, seine nets, redd surveys, visual counts). Sampled and identified aquatic invertebrates to various levels.
