  Advising our clients on how best to manage their Business Rates liabilities on a nationwide basis. Clients are national multiples in retail, wholesale and manufacturing with portfolios ranging in size from 30 properties to 450. At any one time there are 150-200 'live' proposals against existing Rateable Values with myself responsible for inspections, negotiations with the Valuation Office and appearing at Valuation Tribunal if required. Other property classes that I am currently engaged in include shopping centres, disused airfields/industrial properties (with regard to the question of disrepair) and public body facilities such as schools. Finally, an ongoing piece of work for our clients concerns rating liabilities around activities that generate income but are not directly from building in the traditional sense, generally referred to as "commercialisation activities". Examples include kiosks in shopping centres (fixed and moveable), vending machines and children's rides. Show less
