  The scope of responsibilities included the analysis of evidence against relevant legislation, common law principles and police policy to make recommendations to the Commissioner with respect to the exercise of his legislated authority. I conducted oversight of investigations relating to police misconduct with a view to provide advice and direction with respect to necessary investigative steps and relevant legal principles. I responded to enquiries and provided guidance to stakeholders with respect to Police Act procedure and resolving complaints. My responsibilities also included the attendance of disciplinary Hearings and the review of tribunal decisions against the relevant legislation to make recommendations to the Commissioner with respect to exercising his authority to direct further adjudication of Police Act investigations.
