      Mike works with technical experts from the industrial automation, motor, motor winding, wire and cable, and nanotechnology industries to meet their technical codes and standards objectives.He is Secretary of the US National Committee Technical Advisory Groups to:IEC Technical Committee 2, Rotating electrical machineryIEC Technical Committee 55, Winding wiresIEC Technical Committee 113, Nanotechnology-enabled electrical/electronic products and systemsIEC Technical Committee 121, Low voltage switchgear and controlgear and their assembliesIEC Technical Subcommittee 121A, Low voltage switchgear and controlgearMike is also international Secretary of IEC TC 55, which develops specifications for winding wires, such as those used for motor and transformer windings.Since 1996, he has also served as Secretary for numerous Technical Harmonization Committees of the Council for the Harmonization of Electrotechnical Standards in the Americas (CANENA), which harmonize U.S, Canadian and Mexican product safety standards.In 2012, Mike was one of 28 U.S. based recipients of the prestigious IEC 1906 Award, which honors IEC experts from around the world for exceptional and recent achievement. Specifically he was awarded for his "...extraordinary technical and organizational support to TC 113 in a variety of roles within the committee...demonstrating a serious and tireless work ethic..."In 2014, Mike was one of the three recipients of the annual NEMA Kite and Key Award, which "recognizes individuals who have advanced the interests of the electrical industry through active and sustained involvement in the affairs of NEMA." He is the first ever NEMA staff person to receive this award.In 2018, Mike was promoted to Senior Program Manager, maintaining his Program Manager work but with the added responsibility of seeking and understanding opportunities for NEMA to promote digitization, electrification and the Internet of Things to its members.
