This team was responsible for working on the upgrade of the Treasury Department’s code base and databases to the Year 2000 compliant version of the Infinity Financials product. Responsibilities of this role included developing the project plan, tracking and reporting on the team’s progress throughout the project and ensuring that any risks that may have jeopardized the team’s ability to deliver were identified and managed.This position also involved working as a database developer, developing a database upgrade framework that would allow Treasury to upgrade a set of disparate databases to the Year 2000 compliant version of Infinity. This work was primarily done using Bourne shell and Perl scripts. As part of this process, upgrade manuals were developed and training sessions conducted for other database administrators in the department.Another ongoing responsibility was to consult with other development teams in the department and provide assistance with database related activities that were being undertaken. Utilizing tools such as Jira for issue tracking, Confluence for project communications/documentation and Clarizen for project management I was able to manage the successful delivery of the new Australian and New Zealand British Paints websites, the Berger website, Sales capability tool updates and a BnD website update. As project manager for these deliveries I was responsible for planning, tracking and reporting on these deliveries as well as managing risks and budgets. These projects were delivered using a mixture of traditional and agile project methodologies working with internal marketing and sales teams and multiple agencies at the one time.
