Direct communications with our 24hrs WAF operations team who have direct communications with the Navy. I have the roles and duties conducted to ensure the adequacy and level of protection is of standard readying Client Vessels to transit through High Risk Area, through carrying out full inspection of the vessel defences and in case of finding defects or insufficient protection, I advise the master of findings and inform concerned parties at the earliest convenience. This information is passed onto the client to ensure measures are put in place to maximise vessel safety. Its usual that checks on the CITADEL ensuring it is hardened and penetration tested for security in depth, and there is sufficient provisions, food water, toilets, communications, medical equipment, crew passports and ability to steer the ship are all present.Advise the master and crew on Anti-Piracy measures, conduction of security drills, watch keeping, ensuring the effectiveness of the OOW, lookouts and integrity of vessel defences.In the event of a piracy attack or boarding, I help coordinate the crew to enter the CITADEL and assist in locking down the ship, once all crew are locked down, I will follow SOP and make contact with relevant departments to ensure there is assistance.
