  Trouble shooting in fairly high tech production environment. Very enjoyable and some things I 'fixed' are still flying! Two years training in a very authoritarian engineering school, followed by 2 years in various shop floor and office departments.Got to 'design' the starter motor for the Rolls Royce engine that flies on Regional Jet RJ100 etc (formerly HS146, BAe146). Not bad for a 19 year-old. And this was before CAD - it's all in pencil!

  We had a great time! Selling into companies at senior management and board level. To name a few, we solved productivity problems for companies making video tapes, biscuits, NCR paper, Peugeot fuel tanks, face masks, labels, CD-R's, phase-dual disks, loo fresheners and face wipes! We looked at the processes, (packaging and handling), figured out how trouble shoot, to make it more reliable, faster, or even possible in the first place, and then designed and built the machinery & installed it all. Clients from mid size companies up to Sony, Rank,3M, Arjo-Wiggins, and many more.Towards the end of this time I discovered 'Coaching'and realised I'd been using coaching techniques all along!   Working with women from a spectrum of business arenas in performing as the great leaders they are meant to be. I use a variety of tools from the worlds of executive coaching and mentoring, facilitation, leadership development, imagination and intuition. (See also www.GeoffHinsley.com and www.IDKN.org)Whilst there is plenty of evidence that things go better (often a lot better) when women are involved, there aren't a lot of answers to the question 'Why is that?' and 'How do I, or my organisation, leverage this effectively (especially when we don't understand why, in the correct circumstances, it works)? From my experience working with women in an coaching environment (and I also employed women in my engineering company), and taking a good deal of time off to think about this, I'm now both writing a book that will answer these 'how to' questions and inspiring women with the answers I've discovered.I have worked by coaching executive women at levels from manager to consultancy partner to CEO across a variety of business types. I have also run leadership courses and lectured in leadership and management at RMA Sandhurst. Other info... I once lead a skydive display team into central London on 10 occasions. I hold a private pilots licence and enjoy wandering the world meeting the most wonderful people.I also volunteer as a Diamond Mentor for Global Women Connect. Show less
