  After internships at the Dutch magazines Living and Viva I continued my study at AMFI and kept working as a freelance stylist for Viva; I organized editorial shoots for the fashion department. Before I moved to London for an MA in Fashion Journalism, I assisted stylist Patty Zomer at the Dutch televisionseries Modepolitie.

  I initiated a weekly and a bi-annual fashion & style supplement. I reviewed branding and business strategies and fashion shows and exhibitions, in Amsterdam as well as in Paris. I interviewed many established designers and tastemakers (Lidewij Edelkoort, Viktor & Rolf, Hussein Chalayan, Dries Van Noten and many others). I documented the rise of upcoming talent and the local fashion scene in Amsterdam. And I spent the last year of my tenure at the economy desk, because I wanted to know more about the business of fashion. Show less

  I moved from Het Parool (local newspaper) to de Volkskrant (national newspaper) to broaden my network and knowledge about the international fashion world. At de Volkskrant I reviewed branding and business strategies and fashion shows and exhibitions in the Netherlands as well as abroad in London, Milan and Paris. I interviewed established designers and tastemakers (such as Jonathan Anderson, Dries Van Noten, Hubert de Givenchy, Penny Martin, Imran Amed and many others). I documented the rise of upcoming talent and wrote about new developments like rental platforms, local production and digital fashion. Show less

  To explain fashion in relation to society and social trends, I started Modelogica, an independent newsletter with curated content about ‘the logic behind the looks’ (in Dutch).

  Amsterdam Fashion Institute

  Sept 2020 - now

  I coach third year students during the Honours Minor Editorial Branding (www.garmentmagazine.com) to develop textual content for an independent fashionmagazine. I help graduate students to put their ideas into words. I am involved in the Specialisation Brands & Innovation and I inspire first year students in #TheWorld to research the current state of the industry. The AMFI Examination Board is a critical and objective partner of the Management Team, guarding the quality of education and especially examination. The board also decides on all topics concerning testing and exams and it handles appeals.
