      As the Battalion 2IC, I was in charge of planning, commanding and controlling, training of Battalion’ units during regular educational period and time of special field exercises.As the Platoon Leader initially and later as the Company Commanding Officer, I got involved in all aspects of units' life including training in all main military disciplines, welfare, logistics and staff work. This period included temporary service in the position of a CBRN Company Commander within the 30-km Operational Zone of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station during 22 June-28 August 1987. Planning, coordinating and managing of contaminated areas’ sanitation, removal of obstacles and radioactive garbage, preparation and supervision of contaminated garbage disposal.       As the Senior Planning Officer, I participated in the planning and organization of the Academy overall educational and training process, making orders and directives for the Chief of the Academy, preparation and management of the Academy’s training program for commanding officers, military instructors, civilian teachers and staff, control of all educational and other training-related activities carried out by 1500 cadets, 500 soldiers and 300 COs and instructors/civilian teachers. I was also selected and trained at the UNMO International Training Courses in Solnechnogorsk city, Moscow Region taking effect from January to March 1995.As the Cadets Company Commander, I was responsible for commanding, supervision and training in tactics and physical training both at the Company and platoons' levels. Participation in monitoring cease-fire violations, movement and withdrawal of troops and heavy weapons from the former confrontation line, mediation and liaison with the Croatian Army and the former Krajina Serbs paramilitary authorities, assistance provided to the UN Civilian Administration during peaceful reintegration of the Region. I have actively participated in updating and amending the existed Rules & Regulations on Demining while preparing Technical Survey and General Mine Action Assessment elements, assisted the Head CROMAC in the development of a new Concept for a Regional Approach in Mine Action and helped the Deputy Head for International Relations to draft methodology for the establishment of MDD Regional training center.Jan 2001 – Dec 2001 – UNDP Operations Management Advisor to the Croatian Mine Action CenterMarch 1998 – December 2000 – UN Regional Mines Officer/Advisor to CROMACApril 1997 – Feb 1998 – UN Regional Mines OfficerAfter shifting the UN emergency demining operation to the UNDP capacity building project focus was on introduction and implementation of the IMAS into the CROMAC Management System, updating and amending the Croatian Law on Demining and accompanying guidelines, assistance during training of CROMAC middle level management, advice in preparing and developing of the National Mine Action documents. Training of CROMAC and ITF personnel in understanding the Adopt-A-Minefield Program, CROMAC capacity building in donor addressed project proposals.Training of CROMAC staff arrived to the RMO. Shifting of duties from doing things to advisory role in all mine action-related aspects. Commencement of detailed General Survey in two Counties within AOR, training of the Croatian colleagues to use the Regional MIS, as the demining priority setting tool. Leading sales & marketing in over 20 countries, development of training plans & programs, manuals for different robotic systems, drafting and editing SOPs for demining, creating a concept of Regional Humanitarian Centers, project management, planning and allocation of various mechanical assets and human resources and their proper coordination and management during humanitarian demining operations both in the SEE Region and overseas. Successful delivery of multiple contracts with the Armed Forces, other law enforcement agencies, United Nations, International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO), international NGOs and commercial demining operators resulted in total revenue over 100 mln.
