I would check them in, process payments, make changes to reservations, process refund transactions, create reservations, take phones calls, and answer emails. I handled all of the guest’s issues and complaints by creating solutions to solve them. I often helped the sales manager input group reservations, and occasionally I would have to create room blocks for special events. When meetings and events took place in the hotel I would make sure their meeting room was set up to their specifications and that they had everything they needed, I would also assist with any additional requirements they may have had. At the end of each day I was responsible for the daily reports and a cash out as well as balancing the till and corresponding any information to my replacement. May 2019 - Oct 2019Event and outreach coordinatorAs the Event Coordinator I was in charge of organizing and running the annual Open House with Doors Open Ottawa at the Sanctuary. The Open house was two days, with 1,300 guests in attendance. I organized a silent auction, BBQ, bake sale, book sale, tours, and equipment rental. I worked with local businesses and donors as well as over 50 volunteers to make the Open House possible. I was also the Outreach Coordinator at RVWS, and I was responsible for creating educational presentations and presenting them at various locations around Ottawa. I was involved in creating educational and interactive panels for RVWS’s new resource centre and I was in charge of creating a new social media marketing plan. Show less
