  At Santé Fe I greeted customers upon their arrival, I took meal and beverage orders, made the beverages and served the guests. I was responsible for opening and closing the restaurant as well as handling cash, debits and balancing the till before and after my shift. My duties also included beer and dessert counts, refilling sauces, stocking the fridges, cleaning the front of the house, and helping to keep on top of the dishes in the kitchen.

  As a dietary aid and housekeeper, I worked in the kitchen and on the residence floor. I would cook and serve breakfast to the residence followed by cleaning up and charting meals. I would then serve lunch and afternoon snack before fully cleaning the kitchen and dining room to allow the evening cook to prepare dinner. I was responsible for keeping appropriate temperature logs as well as performing regular inventory checks and monthly counts. While working in the housekeeping department, I would clean each resident’s room daily and assure they were stocked appropriately with the necessary items. I would clean common areas and faculty offices daily as well as cleaning and maintaining our pet friendly areas. While performing these tasks, it was also a big part of my job to interact and help with the residents throughout the day, their needs came first and as a team all employees would help in every area as needed.   As a front desk agent, I was responsible for all of the guests wants and needs while they were at the hotel. I would check them in, process payments, make changes to reservations, process refund transactions, create reservations, take phones calls, and answer emails. I handled all of the guest’s issues and complaints by creating solutions to solve them. I often helped the sales manager input group reservations, and occasionally I would have to create room blocks for special events. When meetings and events took place in the hotel I would make sure their meeting room was set up to their specifications and that they had everything they needed, I would also assist with any additional requirements they may have had. At the end of each day I was responsible for the daily reports and a cash out as well as balancing the till and corresponding any information to my replacement.   As the Event Coordinator I was in charge of organizing and running the annual Open House with Doors Open Ottawa at the Sanctuary. The Open house was two days, with 1,300 guests in attendance. I organized a silent auction, BBQ, bake sale, book sale, tours, and equipment rental. I worked with local businesses and donors as well as over 50 volunteers to make the Open House possible. I was also the Outreach Coordinator at RVWS, and I was responsible for creating educational presentations and presenting them at various locations around Ottawa. I was involved in creating educational and interactive panels for RVWS’s new resource centre and I was in charge of creating a new social media marketing plan. Show less
