      Research assistant

      The state-of-the-art object detectors today are unable to identify objects like a person wearing a shirt with a landscape printed on it or a man holding a painting. Objects that look like images whose sub-regions are replaced with another sub-image, are not correctly recognized. This will lead to accidents if these detectors are used in automated vehicles. We trained the object detectors on a new dataset with photoshopped images to solve this problem.

      Guiding students in using Javascript Helping build Computer Vision python scripts to extract data from ancient records (pdfs) to build a digital model of the city, Pompeii. Building a python library to help create personalized cancer treatments for patients. Different cancer treatments work for different patients, depending on his/her tumor tissue composition. We used machine learning algorithms to create a tool that calculates this (tumor tissue composition) in order to plan an effective treatment.
