  I was a Divemaster and Dive Guide at a dive shop in Thailand for 4 months. I assisted on teaching Open Water, Advanced and Rescue Dive courses and I also accompanied Fun Dives for customers who had their Open Water qualification. As a Dive Guide, I would show customers the reefs, tell them about the numerous species and the threats and impacts that the reefs around the island were facing.

  Over the summers of 2017, 2018 and 2019 I worked as a sailing and windsurfing instructor at an outdoor camp in Ontario, Canada. During this time, I was also a staff member on six canoe expeditions for up to two weeks each and responsible for fourteen 13-year-old boys. This position also required meeting parents of the boys who I was responsible for, giving them feedback such as their child’s strengths and resolving any issues.

  I was responsible for overseeing 7 committee members, ensuring that they were carrying out their roles and assisting them when needed. This year we would have taken 310 students skiing by the end of the season. I have helped organized countless socials and events. During 2018/19 I was the trip organizer for Swansea Snowsports, and all together I organized trips for a total of 600 students (this was an increase in participation from previous years). I was responsible for all the preparations before the trip such as organizing evening activates, liaising with the resort, negotiating the best deals for the club and ensuring the trips ran smoothly. As a club we also supported several local and international charities (such as Shelter Cymru, Movember and Snow-camp) through donations from the club and though charity events. I also successfully made these trips carbon neutral by charging a nominal fee to each student and this was used to support renewable energy projects in the developing world. Show less

  My job as a Student Marketeer was to reach new consumers, excite university students, increase sales and manage the Red Bull brand at the Swansea University campus and surrounding area. This included direct contact with consumers and retail customers, encouraging product trial, in addition to working at Red Bull events to ensure an unforgettable brand experience for consumers.
