Responsible for four key areas:CERNER testing and development - Ensuring that reporting needs are met during software updates and that relevant data is made available from the CERNER PAS.Data warehousing - Day to day running and general development, scheduling and automation of processes (including developing further feeds into the solution).Acute commissioning - Applying national and local rules to acute NHS datasets for billing and national submission in accordance with the relevant timetables.Specialist commissioning - Applying national and local rules to non-acute datasets (nationally defined or otherwise) for billing and national submission in accordance with the relevant timetables. Show less Helped the trust set up & develop the Ardentia data warehouse, bringing in national datasets (CDS 6.0, later CDS 6.1), CERNER PAS supplementary datasets (IM200, later PIEDW) & other supporting datasets (CCMDS, NCCMDS, pathology, radiology, pharmacy, theatres, etc…). Migrated commissioner assignment logic from the previous PAS system into the data warehouse as well as local pricing rules from the finance acute processing databases. Worked consistently with clinical areas to ensure regular constant data feeds into the new environment, arranging for relevant file extracts & setting up linked servers for direct data access. Continued to generate acute NTPS data for CIVICA SLAM by generating national HRG codes & overwriting them with local codes where relevant.Became responsible for a lot of the routine running of the data warehouse including:• Daily/monthly file loading• User access rights & permissions• Process registering & automation through the interface software• Developing & testing new feeds• Providing training to new starters• Code optimisation• Main point of contact with Ardentia (later IMS)• Main point of contact with finance for SLR, iSLR, PLICS & Reference CostsBegan maintaining the newly developed SUS submission process & helped to develop a SUS import process in addition to a SLAM import process, allowing the trust to build an automated SUS / SLAM reconciliation. Assisted with the move of the data warehouse onto a different hardware platform (twice) whilst working hard to overcome hardware limitations to allow day-to-day operations to occur in a useable timeframe. Show less Picking up what used to be my Assistant Finance Manager's role, I majorly re-developed the trust acute PbR processing databases to account for HRG4 whist performing all of the tasks & duties that I’d done previously. Assumed overall responsibility for PACAL SLAM & its integrity, oversaw all inputs into the system to ensure that they meet the relevant coding structures that I’d implemented & developed a new standard data extract for use throughout the finance team for any internal reporting whilst further improving processes that I’d previously put in place. Show less Took over the processing of acute data for SLAM reporting, applying PbR & specialist commissioning rules to ensure that the correct tariff was generated within the PSCAL SLAM system. Developed more automated ways of generating backing reports from SLAM & improved the process for generating plan proposal documents. Eventually took over the processing of non-acute data as well and introduced a series of data standards with submitting departments to allow for more consistent processing. Performed SUS / SLAM reconciliations at the request of commissioners. Show less
