While working at Chapman University, my love for antiques grew more and more as I spent breaks during the day walking the historical Downtown Orange Circle lined with antiqued shops. I soon became friends with the local shop owners and other shop curators who encouraged me to rent a small location, mainly as a hobby, to re-sale the antique finds from our cross-country barn travels. I loved this extra hobby and also decided to try selling as a vendor at a local county flea market with our extra inventory. Disappointed, not by the sales, but by the market organizers' lack of overall organization and professionalism during the event. Believing the entire event could be run better, I decided to do my own research to see if my feelings and assumptions were shared by other vendors who rented booth space and even consumers who attended the event. After gaining valuable incite, Trading Post 1908 was formed. We took that initial input from vendors and consumers and continued to use market research to our advantage to take our Antique Market to the top ten Market West of Waco, Texas (Flea Market Magazine, 2013). Our events were at the Honda and Angels Stadium parking lots and were known for our vetted vendors, cleanness/orderliness, and customer service to both our vendors and shoppers.- Conceptualized, organized, and executed strategic plan to launch Vintage Marketplace/Flea Market series and Lifestyle Brand in Southern California.- Designed all marketing materials and concepts including full-scale website design utilizing JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. - Strategized and implemented digital marketing campaigns utilizing Google Analytics, Adworks, and Groupon. - Created an eCommerce store for vendors to submit registration payments for events and resources. - Successfully planned and executed large-scale marketplace events at Angel's Stadium, the Honda Center, and the Anaheim Convention Center drawing in over 350 vendors and thousands of attendees.
