      Obtaining compliance with New Zealand's competition regulation through strategic application of enforcement tools, development of guidelines for business and awareness. Covered clearances for mergers & acquisitions, cartel activity and activity substantially lessening competition. Compliance with New Zealand's Fair Trading Act that prohibits misleading representations and conduct. By taking a strategic approach to compliance (appropriate use of enforcement tools, provision of information, submissions on government policy initiatives and development of guidelines) the Commission aimed to encourage choice, reduce prices and improve service.
