      At Aerostar, we were responsible for visiting and performing safety inspections of all USACE projects in the state of Louisiana. These ranged from dredges, pump stations, sector gates, mat casting, floodwalls, levee systems, etc. During my employment, I became proficient with the EM 385 1-1 and other COE policies.

      Cajun Constructors, LLC. I have been with Cajun as a safety and health officer for over 10 years. My responsibilities include managing employees, subcontractors, daily and weekly safety meetings, documentation and maintenance of training records, enforcement of the all applicable safety and health standards, disciplinary action, and human resources. We plan and coordinate efforts with quality and production departments to insure a smooth flow of work tasks without unnecessary risks or interruptions. To achieve our goal of zero injuries we collaborate with senior managers and employees to promote a safety culture. USACE New Orleans District South Claiborne Avenue I Covered CanalJanuary 2012 to PresentDescription: This project involves construction of a concrete box culvert in an urban area. The location and magnitude of the project require strict adherence to safety standards to ensure not only the safety of those working on the project site but also of local residents, commuters, and business owners. Department of Energy Degas Plant Relocation from Freeport, TX to West Hackberry, LA.This project involved disassembling the Department of Energy Degas Plant and transporting it to West Hackberry by truck for reassembly and use. My responsibilities included environmental compliance, planning and managing safety on the project, and managing six field employees, 2 clerks, and an on site infirmaries. USACE New Orleans District Reach LPV 148 FloodwallCajun managed 1,400+ workers and 400+ pieces of heavy equipment, including 138 crawler mounted cranes. I directly managed 30 employees and trainers. This included activity hazard analysis, orientation, inspections, and audits. We participated with managers in identifying and arranging appropriate safety programs to accomplish the goals and objectives of this project. We analyzed performance gaps within our program and made policies and procedures to allow success in our expanded work load. Show less Our work at Entergy Substations include construction, renovation, and expansion. These tasks include Homeland Security modernization of 500kv yards with key card entry, placement of new generators and generator pads, expansion of 115kv substation to house 7 new transformers, installation of underground conduit and wire, erosion control at nuclear facility, flood control of 500kv station, and manning pumps after the recent flood event in Baton Rouge of 2016. My duties begin during the bid process with the development of the Accident Prevention Plan. We develop a JSA for each task and train our employees. Employees are monitored for unsafe acts and the site is monitored for unsafe conditions. Show less
