  During my time at Waitrose my main tasks were backfilling shelves, facing up products, helping with deliveries and working as part of a dedicated team in order to ensure the store was fulfilling its main objectives. Waitrose is a thriving business so there was always tasks that needed doing and these had to be done well and on time as well as ensuring excellent customer service was given at all times. Working in a supermarket allowed me to deal with a variety of customers who all had different needs and I believe this really has helped me to develop my skills when it comes to dealing with customers with different requirements.   This is a job I took with great pride as working with the marketing and communications team is an extremely important role when it comes to promoting the university to prospective students and the general public. During my time as a student ambassador I worked at the open day events conducting tours of the university, talking about my experience, and helping with marketing administration. This job role has helped to boost my confidence as my main role is to talk to people confidently about the university as well as show them around and give them all the information they may need. Furthermore after constant interaction with new people my communication skills have been boosted also.   My tasks during the week were varied due to the nature of the event. However my most regular tasks ranged from distributing magazines, race cards and newspapers in the boxes to selling the race cards in kiosks. I was also required to handle a fairly large amount of money as well as engage in excellent customer service throughout the event as I was often running around the venue ensuring the marketing side of the event was running smoothly.
