  The Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) had assigned Samsung Engineering as it'smain contractor in-charge of completing the multi-million dollar LBOP (Lube Based OilPlant) project. This experience helped me understand and appreciate the complexitiesinvolved in large scale construction works. I interacted with people from differentdivisions of the office staff; namely accounts, quality control, safety and health, andhuman resources. I got a better understanding about the management side ofconstruction. The company was an amalgam of different cultures, so I got the opportunity towork with engineers from different nationalities.   Design Project

  I was part of a 5 member team, for a project which involved planning, detailing andoptimizing a bridge as per the Indian Road Congress (IRC) specifications. The project wassupervised by Prof. Ananth Ramaswamy in the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore(IISc) which is a highly acclaimed research institution. The primary objective of theproject was to create a plan which was structurally stable and cost efficient. Using aMATLAB code, after several trials and errors, we were able to establish optimized valuesof the depth of the bridge varying along different sections of the bridge. My computercoding skills played an important part in the completion of this project. Show less
