      I studied buildings efficiency by designing, fabricating, programming, and installing sensor systems into existing buildings and laboratories. I also simulated buildings using EnergyGauge and BeOpt, in order to compare and contrast different renovation plans.One of my responsibilities included acting as UCF's contribution to Team Florida, a team of four Florida Universities in the 2011 Solar Decathlon, where we designed a net-zero energy, solar-powered home that we constructed on the Washington Mall for public display and education.       I was one of two District Incident Response Team members, designated Incident Commanders (NIMS) for PennDOT, responsible for quickly and safely cleaning up accident and emergency scenes on the state highways around Harrisburg, for acceleration of the cleanup, and for facilitation of communications between the responding agencies. As part of this, I was in command of all PennDOT forces at the scene and supporting the response. I was also responsible for the safety of the workers and of the travelling public at these emergency response scenes.My responsibilities also included maintenance and repair of all intelligent traffic control devices on state highways in south central Pennsylvania, including traffic cameras, electronic road signs, and highway advisory radio systems. I both performed these repairs myself, and managed a maintenance and repair contract for this equipment. I was also responsible for the maintenance and repair of, and tech support for, all computer and communications equipment in PennDOT's Traffic Management Center, including telephone, T1, and radio communications.My responsibilities also included management of the Beltway Patrol, a team of three tow truck drivers trained for highway clearance, traffic control, and emergency response on the Harrisburg Beltway.Finally, my responsibilities included acting as a backup operator in the Traffic Control Center, filling in as needed to monitor highway conditions, answer phones, and operate intelligent traffic control devices.
