Activities and Societies: Community activities and services were managed for me being a student at Azad's Martial Arts Academy Included many fund raisers, demonstrations, assisting with Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets. A field based program, the public school calendar was followed that added about eight weeks to the regular University calendar. I was involved in the classrooms full days, full time from the very first until the very last day of school. The program was on a trimester schedule where I had three different placements at different schools and grade levels. There were a broad set of experiences with teaching styles, Year-Round and traditional calendar, Open-Structured and conventional philosophies and a good variety of socioeconomic and cultural groups. I used thematic teaching and practiced a variety of instructional and management strategies and was efficiently prepared in systematic and literature based approaches to reading instruction. Acceptance into the Chico-Durham Tri-Placement program was through a rigorous process involving screening of paperwork and other academic requirements. Show less
