      Structural Engineer

Mr Stockwell's role on the Horizon alliance ranged the full spectrum of Structural engineering. Upon arrival at The Horizon Alliance, Philip was responsible for the design of buildings and structures in the Richland's Station. After completing detailed design, which included design of the station building (including an architectural 'twist roof') and station platform structures, he then moved into a site supervision role. As part of the Engineering Management Team his responsibility was to ensure that all construction within the 60 million dollar station precinct was occurring with the design intend and client in mind. After the majority of construction had taken place, Philip returned to the project office to complete reference design of 5 bridges for the 2nd stage of the horizon alliance. Show less

Show less Wessex Capacity Alliance, United KingdomThe major scheme forms part of the £600m Wessex Capacity Programme, which will increase train and passenger capacity at London’s busiest station and across the Wessex Route over the next six years. As part of the Alliance, I was involved in assessment of bridges on the Waterloo approach to determine capacity for the upgrade of Waterloo Station platform extensions.Rugby Radio Station Sustainable Urban Extension, United Kingdom I was package manager for the structural works of 4 locations of culverts and retaining walls for the Rugby Radio Station Sustainable Urban Development project. The culverts were 1m x 1.5m and were for the passage of Great Crested Newts which are ecologically protected in the local area. The project required key co-ordination between landscape architects and ecologists to ensure that the structure provided safe passage for the protected species. Additionally Philip also managed the structural design, liaised with pre-cast contractors as well as all internal inter-disciplinary work. CAFA, London North Western Route, United KingdomI was involved in level 0.5 and level 1 assessments of bridges for the LNW route of CAFA for Network Rail. This has included simply supported and continuous road and rail over and under bridges of steel, wrought iron and cast iron construction of both highway and rail over-bridges and under-bridges.
