For two years, I dedicated myself to the lives of our lung transplant patients in Sydney. It was my pleasure and honour to be there for our patients and learn from some of the world's leading transplant physicians.

    • Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service

      Nov 2020 - Apr 2023
      Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician

Medicine in Cairns is fascinating, challenging and personally demanding due to tropical diseases, the huge territory we cover, to Cape York, and the large sociodemographic challenges such as 30% of the population living in poverty. Lung cancer and smoking are far too common and the obesity epidemic causes surging rates of sleep apnoea and respiratory failure. But with challenge comes learning, maturity and opportunities to help. I relish helping patients every day and prioritising helping them understand what is going on. If a doctor doesn’t do that, what are they good for? Show less

    • Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

      Aug 2023 - now
Clincial and Research Fellow, Lung Infection

Lung infection is critical to outcomes in many respiratory diseases including bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis and transplantation, yet we know comparatively little about what antibiotics work for our patients. In Cambridge, I am lucky to be working with world leading specialists in the bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial lung infections. I am now working on research in bioinformatics of lung infection to predict the best antibiotics to use for our patients at Papworth Hospital and as a Visiting Researcher with the Floto Lab, University of Cambridge.
