I was the dedicated neighbourhood police officer for a challenging ward. My aim was to address quality of life issues for local residents, and work in partnership with members of the public and other agencies in order to improve their area, using a problem solving approach. I set up a policing panel consisting of residents, community volunteers, local authority and businesses, meeting on a monthly basis to agree a priority list of priorities for the local police to focus on. I focused on community engagement at every opportunity using the neighbourhood policing model.I focused on using problem solving initiatives to achieve reductions in crime and anti social behaviour. My legacy was improving lasting public confidence in the police, with my work being voted the most successful of the year by local residents and businesses. Show less
