  MIMIC is an open-source session replay framework streamlining the recording and replaying of user sessions, enhancing web application debugging.•Developed an Express server responsible for managing API communications with the frontend dashboard,processing user session data from instrumented applications, and compressing event data before storage.•Designed a robust multi-tiered database storage architecture, utilizing PostgreSQL for user session andproject metadata, Redis for active session event data, and Amazon S3 for completed session event archival.•Built the session capture script, facilitating the recording and forwarding of session data, including userinteractions, network requests, console logs, and errors.•Led the engineering and deployment of the Python CLI installer, which dynamically generates and injectsthe session capture script into the user application, integrating it with MIMIC's framework in a single step.•Architected a React frontend dashboard, prioritizing an intuitive interface for error identification.•Deployed MIMIC's infrastructure to AWS to ensure feasibility, employing EC2 instances to capacitatescalability and reliability.•Utilized kanban agile methodology to standardize project management, enhancing workflow efficiency.•Authored an in-depth technical case study, readable at mimic-replay.com/#case-study.
