  OSRL is one of the largest providers of pollution response services in the oil industry. My role as a technical specialist was to assist our Clients (large multi-national oil companies) to prepare for and respond to major oil pollution incidents globally. Roles and responsibilities include:• Detailed knowledge of pollution response in the oil industry including preparedness and regulation, incident management, response strategies and impact assessment.• Leading Operations teams responding to incidents. Responsible for achieving operational objectives as well as the health and safety of all personnel involved.• Field observer on spill quantification flights. Responsible for locating, verifying and quantifying oil spills at sea.• Delivered training courses to oil industry managers and stakeholders.• NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified Duty Safety Officer, responsible for managing the safety processes on site and ensuring the safety of all staff and contractors. • Fully qualified and endorsed commercial boat driver (RYA Certificate of Competence). • Responsible for the safety of all crew and other vessels that could be affected by my actions.• Large project management – Operational lead for EMEA region of the Global Dispersant Stockpile, a readily available stockpile of chemical dispersant for large oil spill incidents. Identification of non-compliance and implementation of additional measures where appropriate through audits and investigations. Completion of site inspections and risk assessments.
