This practice is learned only through experience that engages the heart, head, and hands. We learned concepts, saw them modeled, put them into practice, and reflected critically on our own practice. Our learning grew out of our work on our organizing project designed and organized by each student, that depended on answering three questions: whom do you hope to organize, what problems do hope to enable them to solve, and how can you enable them to use their resources to solve that problem? Success of our project was dependent on our mastery of the five leadership practices guiding the course: building relationships, developing narrative, devising strategy, taking action, and creating structure.Leading Change offered a unique learning opportunity for leaders of constituency serving organizations to interact with 120 colleagues from around the world.
