      Project Title: Design and Analysis of Composite(CFRP) Rover Wheel.Descriptions: The primary objective of this project was to reduce the weight of rover wheel by replacing Aluminium by composite-carbon fiber reinforced plastic material, the final wheel was proven successful under all loading tests while weighing less than the mass of existing Aluminium wheel, making wheel ready for field testing and lunar missions.Hands-on experience on CFRP fabrication from CFRP pre-pregs, Molding with freezer spray, Vacuum cure(sintering), hardening.Aluminium rover wheel weight was 326 grams, CFRP rover wheel was weighing 153 gms, IN CFRP material 53% weight was reduced without compromising on strength in all loading conditions and there by reducing 53% of pay-load in lunar missions.From the results obtained in the above analysis, we can clearly conclude that CFRP has a better hand over Aluminium.As CFRP has better strength to weight ratio than Aluminium.
