  This position comprised acting as Programme Leader for seventeen Honours Bachelor of Education programmes (https://education.nwu.ac.za/education/postgraduate-studies). The primary assignment of the Programme Leader involves advice to the Director of the School of Professional Studies of Education (SPSE) regarding the academic appropriateness, quality care and HEQSF alignment of the seventeen programmes in general, including the constituting modules, to ensure academic depth, quality, development and presentation of the mentioned programmes on all sites and modes of delivery of North-West University (NWU).In addition to the above, the Programme Leader drives the internal school process of managing the seventeen programmes, including adherence to the relevant NWU policies, procedures and processes, on behalf of the Director of SPSE. Moreover, the Programme Leader is involved in programme approval applications through the SCAS process, registration and re-registration of programmes at SAQA, Programme Qualification Mix review, Internal Programme Evaluations and External Programme Evaluations.Further tasks of the Programme Leader include analysing and evaluating exam results bi-annually for seventeen programmes, as well as the student evaluation results of the programmes and the modules constituting the programme. Based on the analysis and evaluation, the Programme Leader advises the Director of SPSE on any high-risk modules in the seventeen programmes and recommends supplemental instruction and possible changes to the curriculum. In addition, the Programme Leader supports the Director of SPSE in the execution of the strategic plans for the school, faculty, campus and university. Lastly, the Programme Leader is an adviser to students during the registration process at the beginning of the year by approving and signing the necessary documents to register for their chosen programme.
