      Advisor- Dr. Kuldeep Singh-Worked on analyzing flow physics and improving the performance of Vertical Axis Darrieus turbines.-Numerically studied the effect of Tubercles found on the flippers of humpback whales on the leading edge of the VAWT.-Conducted a comprehensive analysis of the near blade and wake flow features in a sinusoidally pitching 3-bladed VAWT and a fixed pitching VAWT and also the effect of vortex impingement of the upstream blades on the downstream blades.• Utilized Scale Resolving CFD simulations with hybrid RANS-LES models like SAS and DES turbulence models for analyzing coherent structures and compared them qualitatively and quantitatively against experimental PIV data.• In addition, wrote scripts using Python to post-process unsteady data generated from probes located near the turbine and the wake and used tools like FFT to determine the frequency of vortex shedding and radial plots for analyzing torque variation.
