As a Product Owner, I work closely with business area heads, scrum teams and other product owners to build, manage and deliver value to the business; which entails: taking responsibility for the product or project life-cycle from concept, customer research and design, release planning through to development, initial support, feedback and improvements.Duties include but not limited to: • Partner with business subject matter experts (legal, compliance, actuarial, etc.) users (Sales, Client Services, Claims and Broker Agents) and scrum teams to elicit, define, clarify and prioritize business requirements• Develop and articulate a vision from which a business case for product or process improvement ideas must be developed• Define minimum viable products (MVP) for the release of new products, process improvements or projects, with clearly defined growth or value experiments that will be validated by the release. This will include possible direction changes based on the reasonably expected outcomes of the experiments• Define roadmaps for product, projects or process improvements in order to drive early and incremental return on investment• Manage stakeholder expectations by: communicating roadmaps and requirements, negotiating and communicating priorities and timelines, managing change & providing necessary progress feedback• Understand technical debt and risk expressed by the Scrum teams: ability to negotiate the priority of the technical debt with the teams with consideration for the release plan and the ability to articulate the decision to other stakeholders.Certification Obtained:Certified Scrum Product Owner® issued by Scrum Alliance, 5 February 2024 Show less Performance management of a team of Claims AdvisorsAdministrationEnsure that all staff members reported for workMonitor and manage all IPA’s & callsUnderwrite claims captured previous dayMonitor service levels (outgoing calls, availability)Complaint handling, Web, HP and telephonic complaintsDealing with staff queries/complaints on an ongoing basisDealing and referring of release issuesAuthorising of claims between mandateKeep staff updated regarding targets and how far we are of achieving this.Leave planning on an ongoing basisOn the floor coaching, Audit & coaching sessions on an ongoing basisKeep staff updated regarding any new procedural changes or developmentsEnsure training and HR aware of new employeesCorrespond with Training to ensure that new employees have the necessary equipmentCompile a monthly team report highlighting the important stats and area’s to focus on going forward.Setting of goals / target within the department and teamsFull Audit and coaching per advisor once a month:-Listening to a claims call -Discussing what could have been done better/different-Discuss goals/targets going forward-Document and save meeting discussion on the proxyAssisting with staff planning, Interview and appointing of new staff members / internships KPI / commission discussions with each individual need to ensure that advisors are sure of what is expected of them.
