I performed in a number of shows at USJ. My principal roles were at Fantastic World where I played the Wolf and Monkey characters depending on the day. The roles involved choreographed dance numbers, aerial rope and tissue numbers as well as freestyle movement on and off the ground.I also performed in 2 other special seasonal shows, one based on Japanese History where I played a He/she Pre-show presenter speaking only Japanese and as a Samurai in the main body of the show. The other seasonal show I performed in was based on the Japanese animation TV series 'Naruto' where I was a Ninja and a shadow clone of the main character.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4jfx3HKIM8“Seeing close to 2000 performers during our audition tour, Luke was one of the top candidates both from a personality and technical point of view. During his time at Universal Studios Japan, he had been nothing but a great performer to work with, always putting 100% in all his shows, punctual and would always strive to seek answers to solve problems.”Junko Ogura and Kahori Kanaya – Universal Studios Japan (USJ) Casting Director and Creative Director Show less

      Jan 2009 - Jan 2010
      Coach

After graduating from the Bachelor Degree (2005 - 2007), I was sometimes asked to return and coach short course and Bachelor Degree course students in the specialties that I trained and general tumbling, handstand, and basic aerial skills. "As his Straps trainer, I was impressed with Luke’s capability in learning the acts. He has not only learnt all Straps skill and routines I had to teach him, but he also developed his own style in his Straps acts. Most importantly he created, combined and developed his own skills on the Straps. Over the years, Luke has not only developed circus technique & skill, but has also become a very capable performing artist. His graduate piece impressed many others & me. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Luke. Whenever Luke is in Melbourne I often ask him to return to NICA for coaching. His teaching method and experience has benefited many NICA students after him."Guang Rong Lu - Head of Circus Arts - (NICA) “During Luke’s three years at NICA, he was a responsible, talented and capable member of the group. He participated enthusiastically in all projects, developed a passion and great aptitude; for his solid work ethic, technical skills and maturity, consolidating in both training and performances set Luke apart from his fellow students in circus arts.”Mat Daniels – Deputy Head of Circus Arts – National Institute of Circus Arts Show less

Directing this Chinese New Year for the first time, I wanted to open with an outstanding aerial performance on the streets of Sydney, and Luke was more than excellent. This event has over 2,700 performers (300 from Mainland China) and is seen by over 100,000 people. Not only would all of my staff recommend Luke, but I know he was very much appreciated by my close friend Brigitte Scherrer, casting department at Cirque Du Soleil."Jerry Snell - Director, Circus Action International- Director, New Circus Asia Show less
