    • Solmek

      Nov 2013 - Mar 2015

Solmek is a Geotechnical and Environmental Site Investigation company where I was employed as the Laboratory Manager. I was responsible, and initiated, the efficient allocation and running of geotechnical testing to produce accurate UKAS results for our clients. Within my work, I used excel, AGS and KeyLAB data systems to produce our geotechnical reports.I was also responsible for the Laboratory accounts and produced the reports on a monthly basis as well as establishing good relationships with clients and vendors. I conducted the training to UKAS standards on a quarterly basis as well as monitor and arrange for equipment calibration and successfully passed our recent UKAS assessment in March 2015.I am also trained to log rock core for geotechnical data and geological descriptions. This role, along with my previous work experience as an Assistant Manager, developed my communication skills with clients, vendors and my team, established my confidence in my ability to use my initiative and work both individually and as a team to increase our efficiency.I enjoyed my work as the Laboratory Manager however my relocation back to Essex meant I needed to end my role in North Yorkshire. • Atkins

      Jun 2015 - Jun 2021

I was a member of the Atkins Infrastructure Business Sales Excellence team I drove the quality of the client relationships, primarily focused on the strategic clients across all markets, through the delivery and analysis of Gold Sheets, sharing best practice and linking clients and client teams so they could maximise their relationships. I also focused on the strategic major pursuits and ‘must win’ opportunities to support the development of Blue Sheets (Strategic Selling) to inform a winning strategy. In addition, I focused on the effectiveness of the sales process and made sure we were using the tools and processes (Shipley) available to best effect - primarily supporting the teams which supported the businesses key 25 clients and key pursuits. Show less This role was largely like my current role with a dynamic nature. In the year and 4 months of this role I coordinated and managed areas of strategic, cross-market bids, using the Shipley Process, for our successful wins. I supported and facilitated the Gold and Blue Sheets of our key 25 clients and provided bid support and coordination on multiple non-strategic bids and pre-qualification submissions across most Infrastructure markets (where applicable using a Shipley Lite process). I updated Business Development systems including CRM and Pipeline Trackers. I also developed and lead the piloting and initial implementation of a new process for sourcing opportunities for each of the four markets within the Infrastructure Business. I contributed to the development of internal resources which support an Atkins-Group wide adoption of a standardised Bidding Process and Bid Answer, CV and Case Study resource library. In early 2017 I assisted and coordinated the mobilisation of two major frameworks. I helped develop the framework manual and ‘how-to’ guides on processes, in addition to managing and developing the mini-tender sourcing process for new opportunities under these frameworks. Show less When joining Atkins this role was new to me and I learnt quickly how to compose a timely response to Bids and pre-qualification tenders. Using transferable skills, I built a reliable and knowledgeable reputation. I managed the flow and identification of Design and Engineering opportunities coming into the Colchester and South East region, ensuring the correct individuals where able to make an informed decision on responding to/bidding an opportunity. I coordinated and submitted responses on behalf of the bidding teams, ensuring the bids were well informed, of good quality and well designed as well as answering the question the client set.Within this role I was the CRM Champion for the UK Central and South East regions and the Cities & Development market. Ensuring entries are made for new opportunities and all data is quality checked and up-to-date. Show less
