      Partnership between The Coalfields Regeneration Trust and The Football Foundation. My work creating and managing regional and national partnerships that facilitated the design and delivery of programmes that used the power of football to engage disenfranchised communities suffering from the social and economic challenges faced by former coalfield regions.Responsibilities and impact included:• Research & Analysis - Extensive baseline study of strategies, partnerships, policies and regeneration and engagement programmes active across the Yorkshire and North East region.• Generating Investment - Working with community organisations and regional agencies to draw-down over £1million of funding to grass-root delivery and facility projects across England.• Partnerships – Work identifying and engaging stakeholders to build from inception over 40 Steering Groups of partner agencies at the local, regional and strategic level. • Design, Implementation and lead management of a diverse portfolio of projects, including 50,000 engagements through 30 Midnight Leagues that identified isolated communities and engaged disaffected people in football programmes with progression routes to positive activities and training including JSLA, CSLA, FA Level 1 & 2 and First Aid.• Programme Delivery of a range of social interventions, where accreditation to Level 2 FA Coaching and consultation skills were essential in leading partnerships responsible for teams of coaches, development officers and other regeneration professionals.       The UK’s 3-stage Grand Depart was powered by the Tour’s first ever volunteering initiative, requiring the mobilisation of 12,000+ Volunteers across complex geographical and stakeholder landscapes with substantial global audience exposure.My senior management of the programme and its impact included:• Close strategic working with lead corporate partners, specifically ASDA and Welcome to Yorkshire whilst balancing the sporting and public priorities of ASO, British Cycling, Sport England, TfL and UK Sport.• Central lead for liaison with and stakeholder management of Local Authorities across Yorkshire and South-East to ensure coordinated delivery of complex volunteer support strategies across geographically complex and politically diverse regions affected by the race route and event locations.• Overview of design and implementation of ‘Rendezvous’ volunteer social media portal.• Lead on volunteer, training and resource deployment negotiations with public, sport and third sector stakeholders.• Design and lead on delivery of event training to all volunteers across multiple events nationwide at high-profile venues with substantial media interest.• Creation and management of volunteer supervision and welfare plans and the national logistics and deployment plan and its operational delivery.• Accountability for all event and legacy volunteer associated communications and documentation to volunteers and wider public audience.• Daily collaboration with both the Event Director and Chief Executive and wider Senior Management Team on functions of Route, Security, Transport, Programme, Communications, Spectator and Legacy planning.• Direct line management of the seven-staff Tour Maker Programme team and multiple freelance support workers, trainers and events professionals.       I led the recruitment, training, and deployment of over 5,000 Volunteers, creating one of the UK’s largest people-powered movements of modern times. 500,000+ hours of volunteering benefitted the region, a range of sectors, and the volunteers themselves.Systems were designed to attract, train, deploy and sustainably manage volunteers through regular waves of recruitment.Leading the strategic planning and operations of the programme included: • Coordinating a sustenance operation and kit/equipment strategy for which I received the 2017 Professional Clothing Awards’ ‘Partnership Manager of the Year’.• Safeguarding - vetting, welfare and a ‘super-engagement’ strategy focused on recruiting and supporting the most in need.• An expansive training programme, including a progressive focus on social capital, emotional intelligence and networking.• Innovative recruitment and selection processes.• Data management and protection systems.• Stakeholder relations across: Audience Engagement; Communications; Digital; HR; Learning; Marketing; Media; Partnerships; Production; Procurement; and Programming.• Systems enabling mass-participation deployment and opportunity distribution.• Budget management, risk assessment and evaluation in line with strategic vision and funder requirements.• Steer of a highly motivated staff team, exposed to high public accountability.• A willingness to personally inspire, lead and motivate thousands.• Integrate the programme into the region’s third sector and arts/culture and political infrastructures.• Champion a culture of learning – both for volunteers and at a strategic level.Maturing the initiative to position Volunteers themselves to lead social action with their own communities, the programme:• Influenced a number of European Capitals of Culture such as Galway 2020, Rijeka 2020 and Kaunas 2022.• Was championed by Sport England as a volunteering exemplar model, used to modernise community sports volunteering.
