      Began my teaching career at Mary Walter Elementary School, moved to Cedar Lee Elementary and Bealeton Elementary (as Tammy Mallery) and subsequently moved to Marshal Middle School, Taylor Middle School and Northwestern Primary school as an itinerant choral and general music teacher.My specialty areas were further strengthened when I worked in the private sector at Highland School, where I taught band, handbells, music theater, high school theory, choral and elementary orff and kodaly classes. While at Highland School I implemented a Suzuki strings program, an after school private tutoring program in piano and strings, the middle school band, and high school choral programs. Show less

      As a staff member of Stone Hill Middle school, my current teaching assignment includes sixth grade choral instruction and leadership of the school's Guitar program. My music students have auditioned for (and participated in) All-County Events, District Events, State Honors Choir, the LCPS A Cappella Chorus, the VA PAVAN summer program, the Loudoun Youth Guitar and local arts festivals and theatrical performances.Prior to working at Stone Hill, I served two years as an itinerant music teacher at Legacy and Lincoln Elementary schools where I led school musical productions, directed choral programs and taught K-5 general music.My first 8 years in Loudoun County were served as lead choral Director at Blue Ridge Middle School, where I also led an after-school Honors Choir Program, coordinated the annual Arts Festival and taught cultural diversity, MIE keyboard, World Music Drumming and Guitar classes as part of a strong Music Lab Curriculum.Prior to my years working in Loudoun County, I worked 7 years in Fauquier County Public Schools as a Middle School Choral and Elementary music teacher in Warrenton, Marshall and Bealeton, VA. My contributions included work on the County's Music Curriculum, after-school show choir clubs, elementary musicals and the creation of All-County Choral Events.For eight years I subsequently served students and families in the private sector, at Highland School in Warrenton, building a K-8 music class elective into a fully functioning K-12 music curriculum which included classroom chorus, band, Suzuki vioin, Orff , Handbell and musical theatre instruction during the day, as well as creating options for after-school private piano lessons and "SCORE" ensemble instruction available to students throughout the week.
