      Delivered crisis intervention and grief counseling to patients and families experiencing trauma, significant injuries and sudden death. Worked closely with physician and nursing colleagues to help ensure patient and family needs were met and empathetic and compassionate care was provided. In addition to direct patient care I also had the privilege in teaching medical residents and social work interns how to engage with families during times of medical crisis. Because patient care is dependent not only on our interpersonal and communication skills but also the way in which we deliver care within our organization I served as on a variety of process improvement committees to support patient centered care.
