  My career was developed and consolidated at the NIC where I rose from middle cadre management to the equivalent of director of operations. Rising from Regional Manager to Fire Manager to Accident Manager and Motor Claims Manager, I ended up as Director of Non-Life insurance portfolio before retirement. I also acted as director of training, chairman of the board of an NIC subsidiary, Bima Motors Ltd, and leader of several corporate task forces. All these covered a span of 30 years.While at the NIC I travelled widely within Africa to countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and Ethiopea among other African countries and beyond to the UK, India, China, Hong Kong and Thailand. I also sat on boards such as the Insurance & Social Security Board of the Institute of Finance Management.Before NIC, I entered the insurance profession through Colin Hood Insurance (T) Ltd, which was a foreign broking house which was one of the first three shareholders of the NIC.
