The novel aspect of my research was the use of a synthetic dataset to enhance human activity recognition systems and cut down on the time it takes for machine learning model optimization. My research output was presented in various conferences such as The Role of Digital Technologies in Shaping the Post-Pandemic World 2022 and The Southern Africa Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference.My studies and research allowed me to develop a deep understanding of smart environments and human activity recognition, as well as the use of synthetic datasets to improve the performance of human activity recognition systems. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work with a diverse team of researchers, which helped me to develop my skills in teamwork, communication, and project management. I also developed technical skills working with Unity 3D, C#, Python and machine learning algorithms such as LSTM, Random Forests, Decision Trees, deep learning, supervised and unsupervised learning, and K-means.
