  Summer Internship

  Conducted a Nuffield Research Project at The University of Birmingham. Studied reports to develop understanding of cosmic rays. Analysed thousands of data points from HISPARC detectors, using excel to locate a possible source.A 30 page report written on LaTeX received a CREST GOLD award for 70+ hours of research.

  Officer Cadet

  Officer cadet within the University of Manchester Officer Training Corps (MSUOTC).The UK army collaborates with universities to provide officer training to students.I have planned and led a section (6 persons) on a strategic advance to combat. Required to attend weekly and weekend training plus a 2 week annual camp.Passed the year 1 course MOD A and completed most of MOD B, the year 2 course.

  Collaborated with a partner to run sessions for 15 students, over zoom for 2020-2021 due to covid-19 and then in person for 2021-2022. Planned and delivered weekly sessions, both academic and social throughout the year.Took attendance and reported on every session, attending weekly debrief sessions to discuss problems. Nominated for 2021 Outstanding Contribution Award.

  Hyperloop Manchester - University of Manchester

  Suspension Design Engineer

  Part of a large student-led team to design and build a hyperloop pod. Independently conducted structural analysis of the hyperloop pod, creating a MATLAB script for the suspension model. Conducted research on the linear halbach array to co-write a MATLAB code that optimises both magnet arrangement and lift force. Modelled the ski on ANSYS to place linkages that minimise deflection.

  Acting manager on duty for a busy pub in Manchester, responsibilities included: Cashing up, employee training, stock count, running events, dealing with customer complaints.Planned and ran multiple pub quizzes for charity.

  Graduate Mechanical Engineer

  I have worked as a design engineer on Burnley WwTW, Bamford WTW and Bolton WwTW (tender proposal). Quickly becoming competent enough to manage packages independently, from gaining client acceptance to producing a host of deliverables. I am currently on a site placement on Burnley WwTW working as a project engineer / commissioning support.
