Member of the 23-member team comprising participants across 20 countries, selected by the US. Department of State for the Program, "Renewable Energy and Sustainability" under the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP). The internship, conducted between 13th August-31st August, 2018, focused on the following broad areas:• Introduction of U.S. energy policies at the international, federal, state, and local levels;• Examining global change indicators, risks, and adaptation measures;• Analysis of innovations in clean energy and alternative fuel science; and• Examining U.S. efforts to promote international cooperation on global sustainability.A multi-city Program, it entailed visits and in-depth interactions with key organizations such as the US Department of Energy, FERC, USAID, Florida Solar Energy Center, Orlando Utilities Commission , Xcel Energy, etc., with each participant contributing his/her insight about the energy policies of US, highlighting the key features of the same in their respective countries. The Program focused on renewable energy technologies, with site visits to wind-solar hybrid projects, Ormat Geo-thermal power station (Nevada) and manufacturing facilities of Vestas. The associated regulatory aspects in the changing scenario, were discussed with regulatory bodies such as the Orlando Utilities Commission, the Chief Administrative Office, Orlando City, and Public Utilities Commission of the State of Colorado.
