Built a consulting practice in the competitive Chicago market including client development and service, staff recruitment and management, and operational responsibility. Amherst was a private management consulting practice with nine offices nationally serving the healthcare industry. My tenure of less than two years is misleading since Amherst merged with Ernst & Young in January 1988 where I continued to provide healthcare industry consulting.

Responsible for operations of this nationwide practice with 175 professionals which at the time, with nearly $40 million of consulting services revenue was the largest regulatory consulting practice in the world. In 1999, this was also the most profitable business unit in the Firm having doubled the number of staff while being the only business unit in the firm to exceed 200 percent of targeted net profits and exceeding all other practice metrics. I was a committed practice leader that ensured profitable business growth, combined with a below 15 percent turn-over rate in a business sector (management consulting) that traditionally experienced 30 percent or greater turnover.
