  Career ready intern

  During the summer of 2017, I was an intern at PDMS thanks to the Career Ready Scheme. From the beginning of the year, I had attended workshops and meetings that help myself and other students develop skills that are important for the workplace. This included interview skills, elf-discipline, organisation and time management.My responsibilities as an intern were to produce a report on the effectiveness of work experience placements for GCSE students across the Island.

  I was an apprentice with the Web Support team within GTS while I was studying for my BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in ICT. My duties included working within a small team and with other departments, dealing with and resolving customers enquiries via telephone, face to face and by email, all office administrative duties as required, consultation work (working in detail, methodically and in accordance with all policies and procedures), and managing the gov.im website to make sure all content complies with the content standards.I also spent 6 months working with the Testing team where I would analyse government Online Services in Staging and Beta environments to find any bugs and vulnerabilities in the system/website which I would then document and make the developers aware of my findings.
